At the July 21 meeting, approval was finalized for Plaza Tire Service to construct a store at 907 N. Steinhagen, located to the north of American Bank. The company, headquartered in Cape Girardeau, is a tire shop and provides light auto service.Aldermen voted 4-0 to approve the site plan and conditional use permit related to the proposed project. Hawley abstained from both votes since she was absent during the public hearing held at the start of the meeting. Ward 1 Alderman Karen Casserly was absent.Plaza Tire plans to construct a six-bay, 5,430-square-foot facility. Motorists will be able to reach the business from Steinhagen and Buche Avenue.The city’s planning and zoning commission recommended approval of the site plan and permit at its July 2 meeting.Plaza Tire has dozens of location in Missouri and in Arkansas, Kentucky and Illinois.Plaza Tire
