Bobby Pierce continues to achieve solid runs as he transitions from dirt track phenomenon to a known commodity on the NASCAR Truck Series circuit.In just his second race on asphalt, Pierce wheeled the No. 36 MB Motorsports truck to a 16th-place finish Friday night at Phoenix International Raceway.The race marked Pierce’s third career start in the Truck Series. He qualified 26th and completed 149 of 150 laps on the one-mile track.“It was another solid effort for this young man,” said MB Motorsports owner Mike Mittler on the team’s website. “He’s adapting to the truck and asphalt amazingly fast.”Akinori Ogata had his race end early in the No. 63 truck. He qualified 32nd and gained positions early in the race. However, he made contact with the outside retaining wall and completed just 105 laps. The damage resulted in a 27th-place finish.Timothy Peters led the final 28 laps to win his 10th career Truck Series race. Rounding out the top five were John H. Nemechek, John Wes Townley, Daniel Suarez and Tyler Reddick.The Truck Series’ final race of the year is this Friday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. MB Motorsports is expected to have two entries, with Garrett Smithley returning to the No. 63. The driver of the team’s second truck has yet to be announced.The race will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 at 7:18 p.m. (CST).Courtesy MB Motorsports
