Phyllis Louise (nee Leonard) Oliver passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the age of 80.
Beloved wife of 61 years to Thomas Oliver of Montgomery City; daughter of the late Ralph and Virginia Leonard Sr. (nee Pritchett); loving mother of Dan (Robin) Oliver of Imperial, David (Sheila) Oliver of Van Meter, Iowa and Dennis (Jen) Oliver of Pacific; proud grandma of Liz (Blake) Jennings, Julia (Adam Van Winkle) White-Oliver, Katie Oliver and Cory Oliver; dear great-grandma of Elliott; sister of the late Ralph Leonard Jr., sister-in-law of Gail Leonard and the late Barbara (and the late Bob) March, aunt of Gene (Debbie) Leonard, Mike (Sherry) Leonard, Wayne (Susan) Leonard and Kevin Leonard, many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Phyllis loved her family and the farm she grew up on in Bellflower. She was a 1962 graduate of Montgomery County R-II and earned her business degree from Gem City Business College in 1963. She was an avid gardener, loved furniture restoration and golfing. In 1976 Phyllis joined the family business along the side of Tom at Ray Oliver and Son which later became Rose Distributors. After the sale of the business she took over management of U-Store-It, LLC owned by both Tom and Phyllis. Her greatest joy was her family, which always came first.
There was a visitation on May 12 at Mineola Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on May 13 at the church. An interment was held at the Montgomery City Cemetery.
