The Wright City girls soccer team defeated Veritas Christian in penalty kicks during their season-opener on March 27.
The Wildcats were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and played two 10 minute overtimes. At the end of both overtimes, both teams were still scoreless and headed into PK's.
The Wildcats made two of their four PK's, while Veritas made one out of their four attempted PK's. Paige Rees and Sandy Lopez successfully scored their PK's for the Wildcats.
Rees, who was in goal, made three saves during PK's and allowed only one goal to be scored. The remaining PK shot did not hit the goal frame.
