Record Managing EditorA petition signed by residents opposing a proposal to annex four county roads was presented to Wright City Board of Aldermen last week. The petition has been sent to the Warren County Commission. The four roads that are under consideration are Archer Road; North Stringtown Road, from the North Service Road to Forest Lake Drive; Westwoods Road, from the city limits to North Stracks Church Road; and South Stringtown Road between the city limits and Archer Road.City officials stated the petition included names mostly from property owners who lived along North Stringtown that was not under consideration for annexation.Wright City officials said the annexation would aid the city for future developments and protect it from other municipalities that may be interested in extending their boundaries. In January, the city mailed a survey to property owners who own land that borders each of the county roads. So far the city has received responses back from 17 of the 37 landowners, according to Karen Girondo, city treasurer/economic development director.
