On Oct. 1, the Warrenton P.E.O. Chapter MS, held its fourth annual Bunco Bash at the Warrenton Elks Lodge. The theme for the evening was “A TEX-MEX Bunco Bash” and the decorations and food were in that theme. There was a straw horse greeting attendees at the door and the room was decorated in a lively and festive array of colors to set the mood. The dinner was beef and/or chicken tacos with all the fixin’s, along with a large salad bar offering varied types of additives and dressings. The dessert was a Mexican recipe of brownies and various types of homemade cookies. A variety of drinks were also available.Raffle tickets were available for four large baskets made up of several themes. There also was an opportunity to purchase raffle chances for a 50/50 drawing. All funds from the drawings were to be used for the many scholarships that P.E.O. sponsors throughout the country. Twelve ladies from the Warrenton area have been sponsored. The rolling of dice, the shouts of “Bunco” and much laughter were the sounds eminating from the lodge during the evening. Three complete rounds of Bunco were played and for the finale, four ladies won a prize for their activities in the evenings entertainment. First prize went to Carole Harness with the most Buncos. Second prize was awarded to Nancy Shilharvey. The third prize was won by Janette Hysong and the booby prize went to Lorainne DuBois.
