Warren County students raised $2,900 for Agape’s during the Pennies from Heaven campaign.“Once again, we are incredibly impressed with the generosity of the kids who participated in Pennies from Heaven,” said Michelle Bernth, executive director of AGAPE.“All of the funds raised stay locally to help AGAPE fight hunger and homelessness. It is wonderful to see the kids be a part of the solution for this issue in our community.”The annual fundraiser is a partnership among Agape, First Bank and schools in the Warren County School District. Encouraged by the Agape’s mission and the First Bank Challenge, students collected loose change throughout February. Black Hawk Middle School, Daniel Boone Elementary, Early Childhood Secondary Education, Rebecca Boone Elementary, Warrenton High School and Warrior Ridge Elementary participated. Their contribution benefited Agape Ministry’s food pantry at 713 Powell St. in Warrenton.“We know times are hard for many, but Agape’s Pennies From Heaven campaign allows everyone in the schools to turn their small change into big changes,” said Pam Faron, senior branch manager at First Bank’s Warrenton office at 607 N. Highway 47.“We would like to challenge everyone to donate their coins to Agape and help change lives in Warren County.”Agape and First Bank awards the winning classroom in each school with a trophy along with a pizza party and ice cream social.Agape Ministry is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide emergency relief to the hungry, hurting and homeless of Warren County. For more information about Agape Ministry, visit www.agape.org.First Bank is one of the largest privately owned banks in the country with over $6.1 billion in assets and over 100 locations in Missouri, Illinois and California.
