Vice President Mike Pence visited the cemetery in University City that was vandalized Wednesday, and all thinking Americans will agree with what he said. The vice president viewed the damage, with more than 150 headstones overturned at the Jewish cemetery. Many were damaged.Vice President Pence said there is “no place in America for hatred or acts of prejudice or violence or anti-Semitism.”Many volunteers showed up to help restore the headstones. He thanked them for “showing the world what America’s really all about.”The vice president also called the incident as a “vile act of vandalism.”We hope the guilty parties are caught and punished. Vandalism is committed by people with little minds, no sense of appreciation of property and cowards since most of these acts are committed at night.Whether this was an anti-Semitism act is not known, but it appears to be. Stupid people commit acts of vandalism.Often young people, under the influence of alcohol, become vandals. When caught, they shouldn’t get off lightly by a judge.
