A 37-year-old man who was walking on the South Outer Road between Warrenton and Wright City was killed Thursday night when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the man as Jerome Freeman, of Warrenton. He was struck around 9:05 p.m., less than a mile west of North Stracks Church Road.
Freeman was walking in the middle of the unlit road in the eastbound lane when he was struck by an eastbound 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the patrol. The driver of the Grand Cherokee was identified as 27-year-old Bethany A. Hoppins, of Wright City.
Freeman was pronounced dead on the scene at 9:20 p.m.
