Pedestrian struck on Highway 47

A pedestrian was struck on Highway 47 near the Warrenton McDonald’s on Monday, and was transported from the scene by Warren County Ambulance.Alphonso Mendez Lopez, 24, of Warrenton, was moderately injured when he was hit by a Dodge truck, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.The driver of the truck, Timothy L. Patti, 43, of Wright City, did not have reported injuries.Patti was making a turn onto Highway 47 while Lopez was crossing the road, and Lopez was struck by the front left of the truck, according to the report.Emergency responders were called to Highway 47 north of Interstate 70 at 11:10 a.m. Police, fire and EMS vehicles had the southbound lanes blocked for about half an hour while they cleared the scene.
