The July 19 Concert in the Park in Wright City has been canceled due to dangerous heat. The Wright City Parks Department made the announcement Friday morning through its Facebook page.Warren County is under an excessive heat warning until Saturday night. Daily high temperatures in the 90s, with a heat index of almost 110, mean heat-related illness is a risk for anyone outdoors for a long period of time.Concerts in the Park is a weekly, free music event that rotates between area parks. Organizers have not said whether this week's show, featuring the band Shorty and the Two Toads, will be rescheduled. While the heat warning is in effect, National Weather Service advises residents without air conditioning to keep their homes well ventilated with fans, and spend time somewhere with air conditioning when possible to give their bodies a break from the heat. Car interiors can also reach dangerous or even lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes, so no pets or children should be left unattended in a vehicle for any length of time.Heat advisory
