By Jeremy RobertsonRecord Staff WriterBecky Stewart, the new owner of both SunSeekers Tanning Salon and Electric Beach, needs help coming up with a name.“I call them SunSeekers 1 and 2,” she says.Stewart acquired both Warrenton businesses in January and has been running them in two different buildings. It works out well for her, though. When a piece of equipment failed in her Electric Beach location, she was able to send her customers just down the street to SunSeekers, where they could tan in similar beds.Stewart is full of a energy and enjoys talking to her customers. She is running the two businesses with the help of her daughters. Before she did this, Stewart was a stay-at-home mom and also mayor of Hawk Point.“I have six daughters and one 8-year-old son . . . this is a family business,” she says. The most important part of running the two businesses, she says, is the customer. She takes care of them by educating them, teaching people about the products and services she offers.Stewart hopes to eventually combine both businesses under one roof.“We need more space,” she said.Starting June 8, Stewart will offer a massage therapy service by appointment. She is licensed in prenatal massage therapy and is happy to offer that service to expectant mothers.Actually, Stewart loves making new mothers feel good. She told the story of a client who told her she “felt beautiful for the first time since she’s been pregnant,” with a big grin.Stewart also is excited to offer services to wedding parties. Once she opened her shop at 9 p.m. for a bride who came into town late the night before her wedding. Her hope is to offer a place for entire bridal parties to prepare for their big day.Along with traditional tanning beds, the two locations also offer custom airbrush spray tans. This service is mobile as well.“It’s a pop-up tent,” said Stewart, who is trying to come up with a new name for the businesses.Stewart hopes to keep the repeat customers in her shops. She also gives out free tans for referrals.“If you’ve never tanned before, come on in. I’ll let you try it out for free,” she said. The SunSeekers store is located at 705 E.
