One suspect in custody, One at-large following police pursuit

A male suspect was apprehended and a female suspect is still at-large Sunday after their vehicle was involved in an accident during a police chase near Winding Wood subdivision off the North Service Road between Warrenton and Wright City.The man and woman are suspected of stealing from Wentzville’s Kohl’s department store.The suspects fled St. Charles County police before entering Warren County, where they abandoned the vehicle along a wooded ravine at the 196 mile marker of I-70.Following the accident, the female driver fled on foot, according to Warren County Sheriff Kevin Harrison. The male passenger was taken into custody by Foristell police at approximately 1:30 p.m.K-9 units searched for the female suspect near the subdivision Sunday afternoon. However, Harrison said the suspect has not been located and the search has been suspended.A Warren County Sheriff’s deputy vehicle that was on its way to join in the pursuit of the suspects was also involved in an accident with another vehicle that was not related to the chase. No injuries were reported.The male suspect is in the custody of Wentzville police, said Harrison.The Record will have more on this story as it develops.

Police arrested a suspect who fled on foot in the Winding Woods Subdivision following a vehicle pursuit that began as a result of a theft in Wentzville.
