One person and two dogs were killed in a residential fire in the early hours of Wednesday, Oct. 7, according to Warrenton Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were called to a mobile home fire off of the North Service Road between Warrenton and Wright City at 1:05 a.m., according to information from the fire district. When crews arrived, they found the structure fully involved in the blaze.
Additional crews from Wright City and Wentzville fire protection districts also responded to the fire.
Firefighters battled the flames for 30 minutes to get them under control. During a search of the heavily damaged structure, fire district officials said one victim was found deceased in the bedroom. The two dogs were later found deceased in the residence.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The fire is being investigated by the Warrenton Fire Protection District, Warren County Sheriff’s Department, county coroner, and the state fire marshal’s office.
