A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 resulted in the temporary closure of the westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway Friday afternoon. One driver died of injuries sustained in the 3:16 p.m. crash, and another driver was seriously injured, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. Jill E. Gunsten, 26, St. Charles, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. She was pronounced dead at 8:51 p.m. by a hospital physician. Leonard T. Gregis, 48, Centralia, was flown to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, for treatment of serious injuries. Complete details will be found in Thursday's edition of The Record.
