Martha Sue Beard, 79, Wright City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Warrenton Manor, Warrenton. Mrs. Beard was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Forrest City, Ark., the daughter of Andrew M. Cheney and wife Mattie. She was a housewife. She loved her family, loved the Lord, enjoyed cooking, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her four-legged kids. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was also an artist. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew M. Cheney and wife Mattie; and two sisters, Elizabeth Fenrell, and Mildred Cheney.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Beard, Wright City; one son, Thomas M. Beard, Jr. and wife Lisa, Wright City; one daughter, Mattie Loraine VanDeven and husband George, Carrollton, Ill.; two sisters, Kay Meriman, St. Charles, and Burla Marty, Calif. state; one brother, Walter A. Cheney, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 18, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials to the American Heart Association or Preferred Hospice in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.



Ida L. Van Booven
1912-2011

Ida L. Van Booven, 99, Warrenton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Hermann Area Hospital, in Hermann. She was born April 12, 1912, in Rhineland, the daughter of John Struttman and wife Clara, nee Winkelman. Mrs. Van Booven was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Ladies' Sodality in Warrenton. She spent her free time quilting, playing cards and Bingo and loved going out to the casino. On Oct. 15, 1934, she was united in marriage to Victor Louis Van Booven, in Starkenberg. They were united in marriage for 63 years.
She preceded her in death by her parents, John Struttman and wife Clara, nee Winkelman; her husband, Victor Louis Van Booven; one son, Glennon; and nine siblings. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Van Booven and wife Karen, Overland Park, Ka., Anthony “Tony” Van Booven, Warrenton, and Howard Van Booven and wife Susan, O'Fallon, Mo.; one daughter, Wanda Schaeffer and husband Donald, Satellite Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton, with burial following at the Church Cemetery. Memorials to Masses or Holy Rosary School in care of the funeral home are preferred. Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net. E. Kay-Dell Sommer
1939-2011

E. Kay-Dell “Kay” Sommer, 71, Foristell, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. Mrs. Sommer was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Jennings, the daughter of Kenneth Schleuter and wife Katherine, nee Koehler. She was a homemaker and member of Stitch-N-Time Quilt Guild, Missouri State Quilters Guild, Rolling Stones 4-H Club, Wrights and Lefts Square Dance Club and Wright City PTA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Schleuter and wife Katherine, nee Koehler; and one brother, Charles Schleuter. She is survived by her husband, Vincent Sommer, Foristell; five daughters, Emma Trantham and husband Andy, Wright City, Sandra Walter and husband Raymond, O'Fallon, Mo., Jeanne Schwartz and husband Gary, Cole Camp, Patsy Randolph and husband, Wright City, Felicia Wilson and husband Brian, Warrenton; three brothers, Fred Schleuter and wife Pat, Warrenton, Kenneth Schleuter, Florissant, Joe Schleuter and wife Cindy; 10 grandchildren, Sarah, Jon, Joe, Marie, Vincent Adam, Jessica, D.L., Amber, Kayle and John; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville, with a private burial in Wright City Cemetery to follow. Memorials donations to Heartland Hospice or American Heart Association in care of Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.   Kenneth W. Cooke, 86, Warrenton, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at his home. Funeral services and burial were to be private. He is survived by two daughters, Lesley Noack, Warrenton, and Marilyn Haynes, Humansville. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.  
Funeral services for Nancy Gaddy, nee McCalmon, 74, High Hill, were held Friday, Sept. 16, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Mrs. Gaddy died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. She is survived by her husband Oscar Gaddy; three sons, David Hicks, Billy Gaddy and Tyler Marler; two daughters, Betty Davis and Ladona Petty; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.  
Funeral services for Catherine Clausen, 73, Innsbrook, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton. Mrs. Clausen died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Burial will be private. She is survived by her husband, Michael Clausen, Innsbrook; three sons, Mike Clausen and wife Julie, Clinton, Iowa, Tim Clausen, Schaumberg, Ill., and Todd Clausen and wife Jennifer, Phoenix, Ariz.  
Funeral services for Roy Ferdinand Hellebusch, 90, Wentzville, were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville. Burial was in Our Lady Cemetery, Lake Saint Louis. Mr. Hellebusch died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. He is survived by three daughters, Karin Sanford and husband Robert, Peggy Gibbs and husband Steve, and Debbie Moreland and husband Steve; three sons, Randall Hellebusch and wife Debby, John Hellebusch and wife Sharon, and Paul Hellebusch and wife Heather; other relatives and many friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.  
Funeral services for Tommy DeWitt Lockhart, Jr., 49, Villa Ridge, formerly of Wright City, were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, in St. Clair. Mr. Lockhart passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, in Owensville. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Lockhart, Villa Ridge; two sons, Dan McCullen, St. Charles, and Alton Lockhart, Villa Ridge; and three daughters, Tanny Lockhart, Ballwin, Leilani Lockhart, Springfield, Mo., and Shaina Lockhart, Villa Ridge. Burial was at Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union. The family was served by Russel Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
