James Byrd Jr.
1941 - 2010
James Byrd Jr., 69, Warrenton, went home to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.
Mr. Byrd was born Feb. 16, 1941, the son of Claude Byrd and wife Gertrude, nee Poss.
He was the loving husband of Mary Byrd, nee Payne, for 42 years.
Mr. Byrd served his country in the Air Force. He was in the Vietnam War and also served during Desert Storm. He was active in the National Guard and a member of the American Legion in Warrenton.
Mr. Byrd worked as a machinist for many years at Wagner Electric in St. Louis and also worked for the Warren County R-III School District as a custodian for 20 years.
He was a member of the Warrenton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the church choir.
Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ulyss Isabel and David Byrd, and two sisters, Emma Jean Austin and Claudina Hepler.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, Warrenton; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Byrd, Springfield, and Christopher Byrd, Warrenton; one daughter, Cathy Byrd, Warrenton; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Warrenton Baptist Church in Warrenton, with the Rev. Larry Nail officiating.
Memorials to the family in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.
The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services for Lawrence “Bones” Ryan, 84, Foristell, will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Wentzville.
Burial will be in Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville.
Mr. Ryan died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at his home.
He is survived by four sons, Mike Ryan and wife Cindy, John Ryan and wife Rene, Bill Ryan and wife Donna, and Mark Ryan and wife Tina; one daughter, Donna Wilmes and husband Mike; other relatives and many friends.
The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
Funeral services for Josephine E. Stevener, 91, Washington, were held Friday, Oct. 8, at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta.
Burial was in the church cemetery
Mrs. Stevener died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Orville Stevener Jr. and wife Nancy, and Bob Stevener and wife Betty; one daughter, Judy Straatmann and husband Eric; other relatives and many friends.
The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Augusta.
Funeral services for Bobby Gene Parris, 70, Wentzville, were held Friday, Oct. 8, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
Burial was in Augusta City Cemetery, Augusta.
Mr. Parris died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Sue Tinnin Parris; one daughter, Connie Barker and husband Michael; other relatives and many friends.
The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
