Johnny H. Walker 1958 — 2011 Johnny Harrison Walker, 53, Wright City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born July 7, 1958, in Paragould, Ark., the son of Benjamin Preston and wife Helen Marie, nee Carter. Mr. Walker was a heavy equipment operator with Local #513 Operating Engineers and a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Wright City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Preston and wife Helen Marie, nee Carter. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry Walker; one son, Jared Walker, both of Wright City; one brother, Benjamin Walker and wife Karen, Lake Ozark; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 9, at Martin Funeral Home, Wright City, with burial following in Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or to Local Union #513 in care of the funeral home are preferred. Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net. Bruning 1922 — 2011 Darline Edith Bruning, 89, Topeka, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at Rolling Hills Nursing Facility, in Topeka, Kan. Mrs. Bruning was born March 24, 1922, in Troy, the daughter of Florence E. Eversmeyer and wife Laura Anna nee Gerken. On Feb. 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Alden Bruning. Mrs. Bruning was a homemaker and member of Wright City Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence E. Eversmeyer and wife Laura Anna nee Gerken; husband, Alden Bruning; three brothers, Alvin Eversmeyer, Hillard Eversmeyer, and Florence Eversmeyer Jr., and one sister, Velma Eversmeyer. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Elaine Hirst and husband Ross; one grandson, Eric Hirst and wife Heather; and great-grandson, Carson Hirst, all of Topeka, Kan. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 7, at Wright City Church of the Nazarene, Wright City with burial following at Zoar Church Cemetery, Wright City. Memorials to Wright City Church of the Nazarene in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P. O. Box 126 Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Karen A. Sheperd 1958 — 2011 Funeral services for Karen Ann Sheperd, 53, Wright City, were held Friday, Oct. 7, at Foristell Church of Christ, Foristell. Mrs. Sheperd died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Brookview Apartments in Wright City. She was born Aug. 26, 1958, in St. Louis, the daughter of Robert Simon Miller Jr. and wife Joan Marie Miller nee Birschkus. Mrs. Sheperd was a server. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Simon Miller Jr. and wife Joan Marie Miller nee Birschkus. Mrs. Sheperd is survived by her son, Brian Sheperd and wife Amber, Warrenton; one brother, Ken Miller; one sister, Sandra Miller, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren, Elijah James, Mercedes Michelle, Damien Lewis and Brayden Matthew. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 7, at Foristell Church of Christ, Foristell. Burial was at Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg.
