Obituaries for Thursday, May 20 Edition Alden L. Bruning 1917-2010 Alden Lawrence Bruning, 92, Topeka, Kan., passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, Kan. Mr. Bruning was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Foristell, the son of Gustave W. Bruning and wife Rose L., nee Weitkamp. On Feb. 16, 1946, he was united in marriage to Darline Eversmeyer. They were married for 64 years. Mr. Bruning served his country in the U.S. Army from Dec. 1, 1942, until Dec. 14, 1945, in the 94th Infantry Division and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver for Burggrabe Truck Lines where he had been employed for 31 years and a member of Wright City Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Bruning was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Oliver Bruning and Wesley Bruning. He is survived by his wife, Darline Bruning, Topeka, Kan.; one daughter, Karen Hirst and husband Ross, Topeka, Kan.; one grandson, Eric Hirst and wife Heather, Topeka, Kan.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, at the Church of the Nazarene in Wright City. Burial was in Zoar Cemetery, Wright City. Memorials to the church in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383, are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Dorris P. Dothage 1924- 2010 Dorris Pauline Dothage, 86, Marthasville, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Dothage was born May 2, 1924, in Marthasville, the youngest daughter of Edwin J. Mittler and wife Emma W., nee Meyer. She was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical parsonage at Marthasville on June 8, 1924, by the Rev. Louis F. Kurz. She was confirmed on April 2, 1939, at St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Marthasville, by the Rev. R.M. Schroedel. Her confirmation memory verse was I Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life." She received her education at Marthasville Elementary and High School. On Sept. 16, 1945, she was united in marriage to Virgil Martin Dothage at St. Paul's E&R Church in Marthasville by the Rev. F.C. Allrich. They were privileged to share 58 years of marriage. Mrs. Dothage was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Marthasville and a faithful member of the adult Sunday school class achieving 66 years of perfect attendance. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil M. Dothage, three sisters, Verna Fink, Ella Bierbaum and Lulu Ridder, one foster brother, Rembert Mittler, and one son-in-law, Kevin A. Gratza. Mrs. Dothage is survived by one son, Richard A. Dothage and wife Shannon M.; one daughter, Karla K. Aholt and husband Robert E.; two granddaughters, Rachel D. Richardson and husband Luke L., and Stacie R. Aholt; one stepgrandson, Andrew Aholt and fiancee Katie Schweissguth; three step-granddaughters, Leslie Doughterty and husband Bill, Lea Van Leer and husband Brian, and Morgan Smith; one step-great-grandson, Justin Rost; two sisters-in-law, Opal Dothage and Mildred Dothage; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville. Herbert Hellebusch 1917-2010 Herbert E. Hellebusch, 92, Marthasville, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Cedarcrest Manor in Washington. Mr. Hellebusch was born July 10, 1917, in Marthasville, the son of Ferdinand Hellebusch and wife Anna, nee Schulze. On Oct. 21, 1944, in St. Elizabeth, he was united in marriage to Alice Box. They celebrated 36 years of marriage. He was a retired farmer and member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Concord Hill. Mr. Hellebusch was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice, who passed away on Nov. 17, 1980, and one sister, Marie Michel. He is survived by six sons, Francis Hellebusch and wife Betty, Ambrose Hellebusch and wife Darlene, Andrew Hellebusch and wife Linda, Roland Hellebusch and wife Audrey and Norman Hellebusch and wife Gina, all of Marthasville, and Ralph Hellebusch and wife Tina, Warrenton; one daughter, Judy Mendenhall and husband Gene, Washington; one sister, Dorothy Schulze, St. Peters; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 19, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Concord Hill with the the Rev. Finbarr Dowling officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mische 1933-2010 Kenneth William Mische, 77, St. Charles, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at his home. Mr. Mische was born March 4, 1933, in Bernheimer, the son of Arthur Mische and wife Elda, nee Brakemeyer. On Sept. 5, 1959, in McKittrick, he was united in marriage to Katherine L. Wilson. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. Mr. Mische was a photo lab tech for Color Associates in St. Louis and was a member of Smith Creek United Methodist Church, Warrenton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kerry, and two brothers, Arlie Mische and Wilbert Mische. Mr. Mische is survived by his wife, Katherine Mische, St. Charles; one daughter, Kelly Hood and husband Herman, O'Fallon; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Mische, Lebanon; two sisters, Vernita Dothage, Warrenton, and Grace Nienkamp, Lewisville, Texas; five grandchildren, Brandi, Jeremiah, Joshua, Christopher and Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Natali; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Smith Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Oleski officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pietzschke 1925-2010 Harold Louis Pietzschke, 84, Warrenton, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Mr. Pietzschke was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Warrenton, the son of George Pietzschke and wife Martha, nee Hischke. On April 10, 1948, in Warrenton, he was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Knox. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mr. Pietzschke served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the military, he worked at Binkley Manufacturing in Warrenton and in Jonesburg. In 1952 he went to barber college and barbered with his friend Eddie Knoerschilde in Warrenton. He was a member of the Lions Club in Jonesburg and the Jaycees in Warrenton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris King. Mr. Pietzschke is survived by his wife, Joyce, Warrenton; two daughters, Christine Witte and husband Bob, and Peggy Smith and husband Mike, all of Warrenton; three grandchildren, Trish Weckherlin and husband Travis, Kyle Smith and wife Lindsay and Kevin Smith and wife Sarah; one great-granddaughter, Allouette Smith; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Warrenton. Burial followed in the Warrenton City Cemetery. Mrs. Alter died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Alter; one son, Ray Alter; one daughter, Cheryl Fromm and husband Jeff; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Funeral services for Marie Ivy Stonebarger, 91, Wellsville, were held Monday, May 17, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wright City. Mrs. Stonebarger died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Wellsville. She is survived by two sons, Charles Gibson and Verlin Gibson; one daughter, Peggy Amann; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wright City. Funeral services for Miriam Lee Dunn, 35, Warrenton, were held Wednesday, May 19, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, Winfield. Mrs. Dunn died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Polly Beckemeyer and Jennifer Lyndly; her husband, Matthew Dunn; four children, Alexandra, Christopher, Zachary and Joseph Dunn; other relatives and many friends.
