Obituaries for Thursday, March 4, 2010 Edition Mylenda D. Shepard 1924-2010 Mylenda Daphine "Shorty" Shepard, 85, Truesdale, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at her daughter's home surrounded by family. Mrs. Shepard was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Black, Mo., the daughter of Willis Barton and wife Lydia, nee Smith. She was employed as a bartender then later as a clerk for Stewart's Drugs in Warrenton. She lovingly took care of her family and extended family. Mrs. Shepard was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard, on June 2, 1982, two brothers, Billy Barton and Norman Barton, one sister, Ruth Ann Barton, and one son-in-law, Phil Hale. She is survived by two sons, Michael Shepard and wife Carol, Warrenton, and Donald Shepard, Truesdale; three daughters, Gloria Hale, Sally Jo Raines and husband, David, and Kathy Johnson and husband, Todd, all of Truesdale; five brothers, Virgil Barton, Jonesburg, Bobby Barton, Truesdale, Ronald Barton, Wright City, Larry Barton, Wellsville, and Ova Barton, Fulton; four sisters, Wilma Koelling, Fulton, Louise Reel and Genvia Reel, both of Warrenton, and Elouise Henderson, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 26, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, with the Rev. Bill Haffner officiating. Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorials to the family are preferred. The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Funeral services for Cora G. Millerman, 90, Warrenton, were held Monday, March 1, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Mrs. Millerman died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010. She is survived by one son, Willard Millerman; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Visitation for John L. Heistand, 90, Wright City, will be held Friday, March 5, from 4-7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 300 E. Veterans Memorial Parkway, Wright City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wright City Cemetery. Mr. Heistand died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Heistand; one son, David (Joey) Heistand; other relatives and many friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wright City. Joyce K. Catrett, 79, Truxton passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Ernest H. Catrett Sr.; one son, Ernie Catrett; two daughters, LaDene Foster and Joy Bell; other relatives and many friends. Cremation was provided by Pitman Cremation Services, Wentzville.
