Oscar Knarr 1912-2011 Oscar Knarr, 99, Warrenton, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011, at his home. Mr. Knarr was born May 13, 1912, in St. Louis, the son of Henry Knarr and wife Maria, nee Hammerschmidt. He was united in marriage to Thelma B. Finkler on Oct. 5, 1935, in Highland, Ill. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. Mr. Knarr was a retired University City policeman. He also worked in security at Six Flags. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma, who passed away on June 21, 1999, one son, Henry Knarr, and one daughter, Yvonne Warren. Mr. Knarr is survived by two sons, Gary Knarr and wife Sharon, Tucson, Ariz., and David Knarr and wife Andrea, California, Ky.; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Knarr, Missouri state; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 29, at Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg. Memorials to American Cancer Society in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Williams 1955-2011 James Nelson Williams, 56, Warrenton, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at his home. Mr. Williams was born April 9, 1955, in Washington, the son of James Williams and wife Emma Lee, nee Coleman. He worked at Charleswood in Wright City and later at Wal-Mart in Warrenton. He was a member of Warrenton Wesleyan Church. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his grandparents, five uncles, one aunt and four cousins. He is survived by his father, James Williams, Warrenton; his mother, Emma Lee Williams, Warrenton; two sisters, Lynelle Williams-Irons-Andrews, and Melanie Williams, both of Warrenton; one nephew, Zachariah Andrews and wife Mandy, Wright City; one niece, Lavender Irons, O'Fallon; two great-nephews, Bladen Irons and Jackson Andrews; one great-niece, Shantel Irons; one great-great-nephew, Kenyon Rodriguez; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, June 27, at Warrenton Wesleyan Church. Burial followed at Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg. Funeral services for Norma Jean Douglas, 79, Foristell, were held Tuesday, June 28, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Mrs. Douglas died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Park Lane Nursing and Rehab, Wentzville. She is survived by her grandchildren, Diane Manley and William Palmer; other relatives and many friends.
The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Tullas Woodrow Speer, 66, New Florence, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Doris Tharp; his wife, Sevena “Sue” Speer; one son, Sean Spear; two daughters, Dawn Crump, and Denise Ximenez; one stepson, Bob Balch; two stepdaughters, Liz Farinella, and Linda Plate; other relatives and many friends. No services were held.
