Obituaries for Thursday, January 28, 2010 Edition Karen M. Alber 1952-2010 Karen M. Alber, 57, Warrenton, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Alber was born Dec. 15, 1952, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of Lloyd W. Beam and wife Patricia, nee Christensen. Mrs. Alber was a manager in food service for the Hazelwood School District at Northwest Middle School. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Alber, Warrenton; one son, Christopher (Ginger) Alber, O'Fallon; one daughter, Lisa M. Alber, Warrenton; her parents, Lloyd and Patricia Beam, Florissant; one brother, Alan Beam, Columbia; her grandchildren, Evan Navarre-Alber, Colin Alber and Macy Alber; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorials to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of St. Louis in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Edward W. Ganey II 1981-2010 Edward "Eddie" Wayne Ganey II, 28, Marthasville, passed away Jan. 1, 2010, in his home surrounded by love. Mr. Ganey was born May 29, 1981, in Anaheim, Calif. He is survived by his life partner, Samantha Elbert, and their three children, son, Michael Julian Ganey, and daughters, Morgan Lee Ganey and Hailey Elizabeth Ganey, all of Washington; his mother, Kim Bauer and stepfather, Joseph W. Bauer Sr., Marthasville; three brothers, Michael James Feist, Warrenton, and Joseph W. Bauer Jr. and Kevin Jeffery Bauer, both of Marthasville; two sisters, Krishina Veliz, Warrenton, and Amberlynn Ganey, Wright City; his stepmother, Lucinda Laliberte, Huntington Beach, Calif.; four nephews; four nieces; his best friend, James Bauer, Marthasville; other relatives and many friends. All who knew him, loved him. He will be missed. Cremation was provided by Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services, St. Peters. Edna M. Hurt 1918-2010 Edna M. Hurt, 91, Warrenton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Stonecrest Hospital, Smyrna, Tenn. Mrs. Hurt was born July 12, 1918, in Shannon County, Mo., the daughter of Joseph Wade Thompson and wife Annie Bell, nee Warren. She was a retired sewing machine operator for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and a retired member of IAM Local 837. Mrs. Hurt was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hurt, her parents, three brothers, Everett Thompson, Earnest Thompson and Dale Thompson, and one sister, Gladys Prugh. She is survived by one son, Jack Hurt and wife Sharon, Smyrna, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 25, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton, with the Rev. Jason Emmerson officiating. Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Newman 1937-2010 Ronald T. Newman, 72, Marthasville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington. Mr. Newman was born Jan. 25, 1937, in St. Louis, the son of John Newman and wife Margilded, nee Bushman. Mr. Newman served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years. He was a truck driver. Mr. Newman loved to watch old Western movies and spend time outdoors on his tractor. His first love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Newman is survived by his wife, Marcella Newman, Marthasville; four daughters, Tracie (Jeff) Fine, Atlanta, Ga., Angela (David) Fonner, St. Louis, Debbie Gilmore, O'Fallon, and Shelly Nienhaus, Marthasville; one brother, John Newman, Illinois state; two sisters, Barbara Unanski, and Anita (Dan) Watson, all of Arkansas state; nine grandchildren, Haliegh and Hannah Fine, Sam and Benton Fonner, Karey (Randy) Owens, Molly (Jason) Love, Erin (Adam) Williams, Megan Miller and Shay Nienhaus; five great-grandchildren, Madysen and Bailey Love, Ian and Maggie Owens and Claire Williams; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 22, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Burial was in AJK Cemetery, Marthasville.
