Melba J. Vahle Melba J. Vahle, 71, Wright City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights. Mrs. Vahle was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Wright City, the daughter of Curtis Oney and wife Rose. She was a bookkeeper and worked at Marlen Gas, MFA Oil, Cuivre River and Tarlton Furniture. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Wright City. Mrs. Vahle was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Oney. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Vahle, Wright City; one daughter, Elaine Causevic, Clayton; one sister, Alice Windmann, Wright City; two grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 16, at Immanuel UCC in Wright City. Burial was in Wright City Cemetery. Memorials to the church or Diabetes Association in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.   James A. Bass James A. "Jimmy" Bass, 41, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Christmas, Fla. Mr. Bass was born June 22, 1969, the son of Everett "Sam" Bass and wife Linda, nee Snider. He was a long-time resident of Warrenton. The youngest of five children, he attended school in Warren County. Mr. Bass was employed as a union laborer. In 1995 he moved to Fort Myers, Fla., working as a glass glazier. Over the next 15 years, he spent time in Florida and Missouri, preferring Florida winters and Missouri summers. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Robin Flake. He is survived by two brothers, Brantley "Butch" Bass, Jonesburg, and Leonard Bass, Warrenton; one sister, Stephanie Bass, Wright City; four nephews, Michael Eckhoff, Curtis Flake, Cole Bass and Maximus Bass; four nieces, Jennifer Flake, Linda K. Bass, Emily Bass and Madison Bass; two great nieces; other relatives and many friends. Mr. Bass was cremated in Florida. No funeral services are planned. The family will hold a celebration of life memorial Saturday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Warrenton Lions Club.   Norma Jean Gibson Norma Jean Gibson, 77, Jonesburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Miss Gibson was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Warren County the daughter of William Gibson and wife Goldie, nee Stuck. She worked in the banking industry at The Missouri Bank in Warrenton for many years. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the birthday club in Jonesburg. She was a member of the Jonesburg Methodist Church in Jonesburg. Miss Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Goldie Gibson. She is survived by Annie, That Dog, which was her loving companion. She is also survived by many friends who will miss seeing Norma's smiling face around town. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 15, at Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg. Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Casket bearers were David Taylor, Gary Woods, Rob Von Hoffer, Russell Vahle, Delven Dickmeyer and Bobby Avery. Arrangements were by Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg.   Alice June Robinett Alice June Robinett, 76, Warrenton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Warrenton Manor in Wright City. Mrs. Robinett was born May 16, 1934, in St. Louis, the daughter of George Wilson Thompson and wife Maude Alice, nee Creath. She was united in marriage to Delmar I. Robinett on Jan. 29, 1952, in Overland. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. Mrs. Robinett was a homemaker and a member of Warren County Artisan Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Ramsey, and one sister, Jeane Anderson. Mrs. Robinett is survived by her husband, Delmar Robinett, Warrenton; five sons, Douglas Robinett and wife Dawn, and Scott Robinett and wife Donna, all of Montgomery City, David Robinett and wife Lori, and Tracy Robinett, all of Warrenton, and Mark Robinett, St. Louis; one brother, Steve Ramsey and wife Nancy, Ballwin; one sister, Georgie Repp and husband Bill, St. Charles; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 15, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial followed at Warrenton City Cemetery. The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.   Pauline G. Reel Pauline G. Reel, 93, Warrenton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters. Mrs. Reel was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Cairo, Ill., the daughter of Claude Branson and wife Mattie Beatrice, nee Young. She was united in marriage to Jake Reel on March 24, 1934, in St. Louis. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. Mrs. Reel was a manager for Pope's Cafeteria many years ago. She was a member of Warrenton Baptist Church in Warrenton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jake, on Jan. 27, 1998, and one sister. Mrs. Reel is survived by one daughter, Jackie A. Stephan, Clearwater, Fla.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 17, at Warrenton Baptist Church with burial following at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann. The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.   Funeral services for Donald J. Flynn, 62, Marthasville, were held Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Augusta. Mr. Flynn died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Wilson Flynn; his wife, Ruth Flynn, nee Meinershagen; one son, Eric Flynn and wife Cristi; one daughter, Sarah A. Flynn; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Augusta.   Graveside services for Margaret A. Utzler, 86, Lake Saint Louis, were held Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Eternal Peace Cemetery in Wentzville. Mrs. Utzler died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at National Health Care in St. Charles. She is survived by one son, Clayton Utzler; two daughters, Sandy Pearl and husband Darin, and Linda Young and husband Jerry; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
