Kenneth F. Dreyer

1931-2011

 Kenneth Frederick Dreyer, 79, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.

 Mr. Dreyer was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Warren County, the son of Frederick Dreyer and wife Meta, nee Poepplemeyer.

 He was united in marriage to Shirley Haselroth on July 21, 1984, in Warrenton. They celebrated 26 years of marriage.

 Mr. Dreyer served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.

He was a farmer and a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Warrenton, where he was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a Khoury League manager and coach for 20 years and a member and officer of the MFA.

 He loved to play the guitar and dance. He enjoyed coon hunting, playing pinochle and supporting his grandkids at events.

 Mr. Dreyer was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Jeanne Stapleton, one brother, Cecil Dreyer, and two sisters, Ruby Witte and Mildred Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dreyer, Warrenton; three sons, Fritz Dreyer and wife Michele, and Jon Groeper and wife Debra, all of Warrenton, and Mike Dreyer and wife Amy, Valrico, Fla.; two daughters, Teresa Paul and husband Larry, Marthasville, and Carlla Bebee and husband Joe, Gallatin, Tenn.; two brothers, John Dreyer Sr. and wife Margaret, Warrenton, and Bob Dreyer and wife Linda, Deming, N.M.; one sister, Agnes Logan, St. Ann; sister-in-law, Virginia Morhaus; brother-in-law, Robert Witte and wife Edith; 14 grandchildren, Lorna, Jacob and Jeanne Dreyer, Matthew, Whitney and Bryan Groeper, Aidan Smyth and Gabriel Carey, Tony, Devin, Dusty, Ryan, Andrea and Larry; other relatives and many friends.

A gathering will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ, 313 E. Main St., Warrenton, with services following at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.

 Memorials to American Cancer Society or to the church in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.

Nelson G. Kuhrtz

1919-2011

 Nelson George Kuhrtz, 91, Osage Beach, formerly of Warrenton, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Lake Regional  Hospital in Osage Beach.

 Mr. Kuhrtz was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Warrenton, the son of Louis Kuhrtz and wife Mary Adeline, nee Schulze.

 He was a truck driver.

 Mr. Kuhrtz was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Howard Wilson.

 He is survived by one daughter, Patty Williams and husband Johnnie, Warrenton; one sister, Lillian Wilson, Jonesburg; one granddaughter, Kristine Williams; other relatives and many friends.

 Cremation arrangements were made by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.

 Memorials  to Giddy Up and Go Fund (equine care) in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.

Elmer L. Carroz

1931-2011

 Elmer L. Carroz, 79, Warrenton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehab in Jonesburg.

 He was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Warren County, the son of Emil H. Carroz and wife Ella M., nee Eick.

 Mr. Carroz served his country in the U.S. Army from 1948-1951 in Japan and Korea. He was a member of the VFW.

He was the owner of a logging business where he was a timber dealer and truck driver. He loved sports, baseball, bowling and golf.

 Mr. Carroz was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

 He is survived by his wife, Dolores Carroz, Warrenton; one son, Rickey Carroz and wife Kim, Warrenton; two daughters, Robin Lewandowski and husband Tom, St. Joseph, and Roxanne Neely and husband Don, Warrenton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.

 Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery.

 Memorials to Alzheimer's Association in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.

 The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.

 

Funeral services for James Lee Shaff, 60, Whiteville, Tenn., were held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.  Mr. Shaff died Thursday, Feb. 17, at his daughter’s home in Whiteville, Tenn. He is survived by one son, Daniel James Shaff; one daughter, Jamie Lynn Ferge and husband Brian; other relatives and many friends.   Funeral services for Glen M. Dierker, 64, Wright City, were held Saturday, Feb. 19, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Mr. Dierker died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Susie Dierker; two sons, Kurt Dierker and Kevin Dierker; two daughters, Karen Dierker and Mary Jones and husband Arnold; other relatives and many friends.
