Loretta M. Polston 1923-2011 Loretta M. Polston, 87, Warrenton, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. Mrs. Polston was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Warren County, the daughter of Thomas Cook and wife Clara, nee Dothage. She was united in marriage to Joseph W. Polston on July 22, 1945, in Warrenton. They celebrated 28 years of marriage. Mrs. Polston was a homemaker. She worked at IGA in the 1940s and at Paradise Donut Shop for 22 years in Warrenton. She was a member of College United Methodist Church, Suzanna's and the Truesdale Community Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph, on March 19, 1973, and one brother, Warren. Mrs. Polston is survived by two sons, Dale Polston and wife Donna, Warrenton, and Charles W. Polston and wife Patty, Troy; one brother, Herbert "Bert" Cook and wife Margie, Warrenton; two sisters, Hazel Slatten and Delores "Babe" Aston and husband Donald, all of Warrenton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at College United Methodist Church in Warrenton. Burial will follow in the Warrenton City Cemetery. The family is being served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Grace Nienkamp 1928-2011 Grace Nienkamp, nee Mische, 82, Lewisville, Texas, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. Mrs. Nienkamp was born July 10, 1928, in Gore, the daughter of Arthur Mische and wife Elda L., nee Brakemeyer. She was baptized in infancy by the Rev. Carl Wagner at Smith Creek United Methodist Church. She was confirmed at that church on June 15, 1941, by the Rev. Carlton Barton. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, both in Smith Creek and in Lewisville, Texas. Mrs. Nienkamp served as a Sunday school teacher and on various committees at both churches. She worked in the banking system in Lewisville, Texas, for 27 years. She retired from Chase Bank in June 1999. Mrs. Nienkamp was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Arlie, Wilbert and Kenneth Mische, one nephew, Kerry Mische, and one niece, Lisa Brewer. She is survived by one son, John Nienkamp and wife Cynthia, Lewisville, Texas; two daughters, Ann Christopher and husband Mark, Mesquite, Texas, and Jean Nienkamp, Indiana, Pa.; two grandsons, Kenneth Cobb and Derek Hodkinson and wife Natalie; one granddaughter, Marsha Christopher, Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren, all of Texas state; one sister, Vernita Dothage, Warrenton; three sisters-in-law, Eunice Mische, Kathy Mische and Doris Bunge; several nephews and nieces; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, at Smith Creek United Methodist Church, Warrenton, with the Rev. Sharon Kichline and the Rev. Rick Olesky officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lowry was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of Clyde Odom and wife Dollie, nee Poole. She was united in marriage to Jack Albert Lowry in St. Louis. Mrs. Lowry was a waitress at the White Duck in Wentzville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, on Oct. 7, 1990, one son, Jack A. Lowry III, and one daughter, Mechelle Lowry. Mrs. Lowry is survived by two daughters, Theresa Lowry and Connie Kurtley, both of Warrenton; two brothers, Charles Trent and James Trent, both of Winfield; three sisters, Clara Allen, St. Peters, Carol Lemunion, Dexter, and Marie Bucheck, Bonne Terre; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her companion Ted Kunze, Warrenton; other relatives and many friends. Gould 1919-2011 Rachel Blanche Gould, nee Temple, 91, went home to be with God Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. Mrs. Gould was born Oct. 14, 1919, the daughter of Luke Corzine and wife Rosie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard J. Gould, and one grandson, Kevin J. Stark. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Williams and husband Don, Pat Gan and husband Paul, Judy Stephens and husband Bill, Karen Stark and husband Ken, and Marilyn Powell and husband John; her cherished grandchildren, Mike Williams and wife Anne, Terri Tebeau and husband Mike, Doug Gan, Jeff Gan and wife Vicki, Dawn Simmons and husband Roger, Kelli Waters and husband Todd, Sherri Carson, Lisa Roddenberry, Butch Stark and wife Karen, Ken Stark Jr. and wife Ashlee, Tania Davis and husband Horace, Jodie Polston and husband Jason, and Scott Powell and wife Alicia; 32 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Board; nieces and nephews; and friends all over the country. Our dear mother's journey on this earth has ended but her love and caring spirit will live on with us forever. She always looked for and found the good in everyone, she never met a stranger, often saying that strangers were just friends you haven't met yet. She loved to fish, golf, dance and travel. She and Richard traveled the United State3s in their motor home and the world on cruise ships. A funeral Mass celebrating Mrs. Gould's life was held Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dardenne. Lawrence Twiehaus 1922-2011 Lawrence H. Twiehaus, 89, Warrenton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at the Villages of St. Peters, St. Peters. Mr. Twiehaus was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Wright City, the son of Robert H. Twiehaus and wife Mabel, nee Minning. Mr. Twiehaus served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the VFW. Mr. Twiehaus was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Agnes Twiehaus, nee Wildschuetz, his stepmother, Evelyn Twiehaus, three brothers, Bobby Twiehaus Jr., Melvin Twiehaus and Louis Twiehaus, and two sisters, Gladys Walterman and Dorothy Wright. He is survived by one son, Larry Twiehaus, Gainsville, Fla.; one daughter, Connie Vitt, Warrenton; one brother, Wilford "Wimpy" Twiehaus and wife Ethel, Warrenton; one sister, Marie Moore, Warrenton; one granddaughter, Christina Vitt and fiance Jeff Polys, Steelville; other relatives and many friends.
