Obituaries for Thursday, August 20 Edition Frederick Arnold IV -1971 - 2009- Frederick William Arnold IV, 38, Wright City, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. Mr. Arnold was born May 1, 1971, in St. Louis the son of Frederick William Arnold III and Joan Kiefer, nee Tessaro. He was a lot manager and owner of Midwest Mustangs. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, James Kiefer. Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife, Jennifer Arnold, Wright City; his mother, Joan Kiefer, Warrenton; his father- and mother-in-law, William and Katie Jones, Lake Saint Louis; one brother, Scott Kiefer, Independence; one sister, Vicki Broeker and husband Robbie, Warrenton; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton, with the Rev. Bill Thess officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials to Baby Arnold Trust in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Orville A. Gildehaus - 1936 - 2009 - Orville A. Gildehaus, 72, Marthasville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in Lancaster. Mr. Gildehaus was born Oct. 26, 1936, in Washington, the son of Al H. Gildehaus and wife Susie M., nee Koch. He was united in marriage to Betty Meyer. Mr. Gildehaus is survived by his wife; his mother; three sons, Randy Gildehaus and wife Laurie, Jeff Gildehaus and wife Peggy and Kurt Gildehaus and wife Lana, all of Marthasville; one daughter, Diane Gildehaus, Washington; five brothers, Elmer Gildehaus and wife Marcella, Richard Gildehaus and wife Corine, Harold Gildehaus and wife Carolee, Larry Gildehaus and wife June and David Gildehaus and wife Judy, all of Washington; four sisters, Dorothy Straatmann, Villa Ridge, Doris Kopmann and husband Merlin and Janet Schuetz and husband Bob, all of Marthasville, and Carolyn Peters and husband Bob, Washington; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and one son, Orville Lawrence Gildehaus. Mr. Gildehaus served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 2661, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 180, Marthasville. He was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local 1839 and owned Gildehaus Construction for 30 years with his wife. Mr. Gildehaus was a member of the advisory board at Heritage Community Bank, Marthasville, and the St. Ignatius Church finance committee. He was instrumental in the construction of the St. Ignatius Parish Center. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Ignatius Church, Concord Hill, with the Rev. Finbarr Dowling officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials to St. Ignatius Church Building Fund or Friends of Emmaus are preferred. The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington. Cecil Smith - 1919 - 2009 - Cecil "Melvin" Smith, 90, Marthasville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009. He was born Jan. 19, 1919. Mr. Smith was the dearest husband of the late Marie Smith and dear son of the late Jeffrey and Jessie Smith. He was the devoted father of Donald Lee Smith and wife Patricia and Linda Faye Paul and husband Burton, the beloved grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of 11. Mr. Smith was the dear brother of Kenny Smith, Mildred Piper, Fern Reece, Mary Weeks, Wanda Dabney, Patsy Lorance, Shirley Vines and the late Victor, Lora Duane and Norman Smith. He was co-owner of Cecil Smith Lumber near Wright City. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 21, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 West Clay St., St. Charles. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel, St. Charles. Burial will be in St. Charles Memorial Gardens. Vickie Tadlock Rogers -1961 - 2009- Vickie Tadlock Rogers, 47, Lander, Wyo., formerly of Jonesburg, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009, as a result of a vehicle accident. She was born Nov. 7, 1961, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Vera Gordon and Stiles Tadlock. Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. She is survived by two sons, Zane Rogers, Casper, Wyo., and Zack Rogers, Lander, Wyo.; special friend, Tom Moore, Lander, Wyo.; her mother, Vera Gordon, Jonesburg; one brother, Scott Gordon and wife Mickelle, Moscow Mills; three sisters, Cindy Tadlock Smith and husband Donnie, Columbia, Karen Oxley and huband John, Pampa, Texas, and Stacy Prenger and husband Roger, Warrenton; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. The family asks that she be remembered for the amazing and remarkable woman she was, her vibrant face, how she could light up a room with her smile or capture everyone's attention with her laugh. She enjoyed being with friends and family, the beautiful mountains which surrounded her and most of all she loved her children. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, from 1-3 p.m. at Harding Funeral Home, 106 W. Lion Ave., Jonesburg. The family is being served by Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg. Funeral services for Charles Ray Douglas Jr., 79, Foristell, will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Burial will follow in Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville. Mr. Douglas died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Park Lane Nursing and Rehab., Wentzville. He is survived by his wife, Norma Douglas; other relatives and many friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Funeral services for Robert Edward Elliott, 76, Lake Saint Louis, were held Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles. Mr. Elliott died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. He is survived by his wife Mari Elliott, nee Exarhos; one son, Robert Elliott; two daughters, Susan Ross and Denise Elliott; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Funeral services for Gerald "Jerry" D. Lee, 77, Lake Saint Louis, were held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Mr. Lee died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. He is survived by two sons, Gregory Lee and Richard Lee and wife Lisa; one daughter, Linda Layton and husband Chris; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. A celebration of life luncheon for Margaret E. Paulsen, 79, Warrenton, was held Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Warrenton American Legion Hall. Mrs. Paulsen died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Paulsen; three sons, Joseph and wife Sandy, Mike and wife Jane, and Mark; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
