William “Bill” Harrison Albrecht
1934 — 2011

William “Bill” Harrison Albrecht, 80, Marthasville, passed away at his home Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011.

Mr. Albrecht was born in Chesterfield Jan. 12, 1934, the son of Charles F. Albrecht and wife Catherine, nee Essen.

On June 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to LaVerne Theresa Gruenloh in Florissant. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

He was a heavy equipment operator and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 513. Mr. Albrecht played country music on the electric bass and for many years, played with his brother, Eric Albrecht, in a band called 'Rick Charles and the Sunset Rangers.' He later formed his own group, 'That's Country.'

He is survived by his wife, Laverne, Marthasville; two sons, David Albrecht and wife Maureen, Wentzville, and Daniel Albrecht and wife Linda, Warrenton; one daughter, Mary Easley and husband Glenn, Columbia; two brothers, Eric Albrecht and wife Genevieve, St. Charles, and George Albrecht and wife Helen, Florida state; one sister, Fran McPherson and husband Bob, Florida state; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Albrecht was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. Albrecht and wife Catherine, nee Essen.

His body was donated to science. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

1928 — 2011

Barbara Sommer, 82, Warrenton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011.

Mrs. Sommer was born in Kirkwood Sept. 9, 1928, to Eugene Vogelgesang and wife  Josephine Barbara.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, St. Ann's Sodality Quilters, Heavenly Dusters and Quiliting for Soldiers.

 Mrs. Sommer is survived by her husband, Andrew Sommer, Warrenton; six sons, Leo Sommer and wife Cyrilla, Warrenton; Ronald Sommer and wife Sonja, Auxvasse, Allen Sommer and wife Diana, Wellsville; Michael Sommer, Middletown, John Sommer and wife Jacqueline, Independence; and Philip Sommer and wife Kathleen, Mason, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Jane Noellsch and husband Robert, Bowling Green, Brenda Boss and husband James, Oak Grove, and Rita Gangloff and husband Dan, Wellsville; five brothers, Gene Vogelgesang and wife Dorothy, Charlie Vogelgesang and wife Alice, Kenny Vogelgesang and wife Mary Kay, Rich Vogelgesang and wife Sharon, and Ralph Vogelgesang and wife Donna, all of St. Paul; one sister, Loretta Harke and husband Harold "Hallie,” Old Monroe; 30 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Vogelgesang and wife Josephine Barbara; one brother, Leonard Vogelgesang; and one sister, Sister Barbara Jeanne Vogelgesang, CPPS.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 5, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton.

Burial was at holy rosary Catholic Cemetery, Warrenton.

Memorials to masses or Holy Rosary Church in care of Pitman Funeral Home are preferred.

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.     Funeral services for Lonell Clevie Hunt, 76, Foristell, were held Saturday, Sept. 3, at Pitman Funeral Home, in Wentzville. Mrs. Hunt died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Winfrey, Foristell; and two sons, William “Hugh” Hunt and wife Laura, Foristell, and Michael Hunt and wife Nancy, Lee's Summitt. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
