Elizabeth L. Sanker 1917-2011  Elizabeth Laura Sanker, nee Bockhorst, 93, St. Peters, formerly of Warrenton, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Villages of St. Peters.  Mrs. Sanker was born July 11, 1917, in Warren County, the daughter of Fred Bockhorst and wife Ella, nee Kamper.  She was united in marriage to William Henry Sanker on Oct. 28, 1938, in Warren County. They celebrated 70 years of marriage. Elizabeth graduated from Wright City High School and the Central Wesleyan College. She taught at Locust Grove School at Wright City. She was also a clerk at McDonnell Douglas for 10 years.  Mrs. Sanker was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, the Dorcas Society, Steinhagen Church and Camp Branch Extension Club. She taught Sunday school at church and was a Cub Scout den mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, who passed away July 21, 2009, one son, Barry Sanker, one daughter, Barbara Loewenstein, one brother, Arthur Bockhorst, and two sisters, Evelyn Karrenbrock and Vera Schroer.  Mrs. Sanker is survived by one son, Robert "Bob" Sanker and wife Sharon, St. Peters; one son-in-law, J.B. Loewenstein, St. Louis; one daughter-in-law, Eileen Sanker, Warrenton; one sister, Mildred Wilmsmeyer, Warrenton; nine grandchildren, Brenda Schwartz, John Loewenstein, Amy Scanlon, and William, Bryan, Brad, Todd, Kathleen and Rebecca Sanker; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial was at Steinhagen Evangelical Cemetery in Warren County.  Memorials to the cemetery fund in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.  Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net.  The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.     Norbert Heitgerd 1933-2011 Norbert Heitgerd, 78, Jonesburg, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.  Mr. Heitgerd was born March 2, 1933, in St. Charles, the son of Alvin Heitgerd and wife Wilma, nee Grau.  He married Donna Ostmann of Harvester on March 20, 1954. They were married in the Zion Lutheran Church in Harvester. Mr. Heitgerd went into the U.S. Army on June 29, 1953, and served his country during the Korean War until June 15, 1955. He then served in the Army Reserves until July 31, 1961.  Norbert and Donna moved to Jonesburg in 1972. He was an over-the-road truck driver having owned and operated his own truck for 45 years. He retired in 2009. After his retirement, Norbert enjoyed taking trips to Branson and seeing the music shows. He also got great pleasure out of tinkering with antique tractors and was a member of the MOSAC Antique Tractor Pulling Club. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Wilma Heitgerd.  Mr. Heitgerd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Heitgerd, Jonesburg; his children, Ronald L. Heitgerd and Scott P. Heitgerd, both of Warrenton, David A. Heitgerd, Jonesburg, Jean M. Sturgeon, Montgomery City; his siblings, Betty Lewis, Judy Schlueter and Clifford Heitgerd, all of St. Charles, and Jane Fridley, Defiance; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, June 17, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton. Burial with military honors was in Jonesburg City Cemetery.  Memorials to the church building fund are preferred.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.hardingfh.com.  The family was served by Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg.    
Funeral services for Lucille E. Steger, 90, O’Fallon, were held Tuesday, June 21, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Mrs. Steger died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her home. She is survived by two sons, Marc Steger and Michael Steger; one daughter, Peggy Kelpe; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
