Funeral services for Marshall Roderfeld, 60, St. Charles, were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Burial was at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles.Mr. Roderfeld died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles. He is survived by his son Jeff Roderfeld and wife Nicki, Wright City; other relatives and friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Genevieve J. Hoffmann 1924-2012 Genevieve Joyce Hoffmann, nee Lensing, 87, Marthasville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hoffmann was born May 2, 1924, the daughter of Alfred Lensing and wife Ollie. In 1943, she attended college at Central Methodist University in Fayette. She worked as a secretary for Wolff Shoe Company for many years. Mrs. Hoffmann was a long time member of the Womens’ Auxiliary at St. John’s Mercy Hospital, Washington, where she volunteered for several years. She was also very involved with St. Paul United Church of Christ, Marthasville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Lensing and wife Ollie. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Walter Hoffmann; three sons, Steve Hoffmann and wife Barbara, and Kenneth Hoffmann, all of Washington, and Craig Hoffmann, Jamestown, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Hoffmann, Jamestown, Colo., and Linda Grotewiel and husband Ron, Columbia; five grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Katherine Hoffmann, Christopher Grotewiel and Heather Myers; three great grandchildren, Quinn and Cooper Myers and Chase Grotewiel; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Marthasville. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Donations to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Marthasville, are preferred. The family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville. Roger L. Wright -1938 - 2012- Roger Lee Wright, 73, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at New Florence Nursing Center, New Florence. He was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Warren County, the daughter of John R. Wright Sr. and wife Mabel, nee Stevens. He was a factory worker. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Wright Sr. and wife Mabel, nee Stevens; two brothers, John R. Wright Jr., and William Wright; two sisters, Edith Moore, and Jo Alexander; one grandson, Joseph Wright. He is survived by his wife, Diana J. Wright, Warrenton, one son, John R. Wright, Texas state; one daughter, Linda Rae Wright, Mo. State; one step-son, David A. Carson, St. Louis; one sister, Ruth Moreland, Truxton; one granddaughter, Julie Samson, Texas state; three nephews, John and Joe Wright, both of Wright City, and Richard Moreland, Truxton; one niece, Franci Schwartz, Truxton; other relatives and friends. Graveside Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Central Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Truxton. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Elise H. Schaffner 1931-2012 Elise Hulda Schaffner, nee Hoelscher, 81, Warrenton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Schaffner was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Treloar, the daughter of Frank and Lydia Hoelscher. Mrs.Schaffner was a former employee of the Warren County Collector’s office. She was preceded in death by a former husband, Randall Mildred, who passed away in 1979; her parents, Frank and Lydia Hoelscher; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Hans Schaffner; six daughters, Marsha Mildred, Warrenton; Christine Piwowarek and husband Stanley, Olathe, Kan., Catherine Vangrunsven and husband Michael, Lakeville, Minn., Christine Fruits and husband Mark, Florissant, Carla Henley and husband J.D., St. Charles, and Caryn Morgan and husband Thomm, O'Fallon; one son, Steven Schaffner and wife Tarry, Florida state; two brothers, Rudolph and Jerome Hoelscher, both of Marthasville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Sutor 1922-2012 Kenneth M. “Slats” Sutor, 89, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at his home. Mr. Sutor was born July 21, 1922, in Warren County, the son of John H. Sutor and wife Leora. On June, 24, 1943, he was united in marriage to Betty Lorene Palmer at the Walter Reed Chapel, in Washington D.C. They celebrated 68 years of marriage. He spent his younger years in Warren County and the family farm down Y-road southwest of Jonesburg. He attended grades one-eight at the one room Oak Grove School House and graduated from Jonesburg High School. After high school, he worked for Binkley Co., Warrenton, and began dating his hometown sweetheart Betty L. Sutor. After World War II began, he and his brothers each joined the service. Mr. Sutor joined the U.S. coast guard shore patrol in Curtis Bay, Md. His wife followed him to the east coast and it was there that they were married. After being discharged in 1945, he and his wife moved back to Jonesburg, where he went to work for Oscar Pietzchke Implement Co. In 1947 Kenneth bought a wholesale produce route from his wife’s uncle John Randall and wife Liegh, New Hartford. He operated K.M. Sutor produce until he retired in 1987. Along with the produce route, he and his brother brothers established a registered Polled Herford Business known as the “Triple S Ranch” on Y-road south of Jonesburg. He was a school bus driver until he was 70, Imo’s Pizza delivery driver until he was 85, and Imo’s Pizza lead dishwasher until he was 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Sutor and wife Leora; two brothers, Howard Jack Sutor, Allen Brooks Sutor; one sister, Melba Jewel Sutor-Watkins-Harris, three brothers-in-law, Clifford Watkins, Harry Harris, and Rodney Palmer; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Lagemann Sutor, and Ruby Leek Sutor; and one nephew, Mark A. Sutor. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Sutor, Warrenton; two daughters, Roxanne A. Eaklor, and Lisa Rausch and husband Dan, all of Warrenton; two granddaughters, Ashley Amanda Eaklor-Miller and husband Shawn, and Haley Michele Rausch; two grandsons, Nathaniel Sutor Eaklor, and Luke Daniel Rausch; one great-granddaughter, Abagayle Amanda Miller; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Palmer, Tehapachi, Calif., and Raymond Palmer and wife Chachi, Hot Springs, S.D.; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Jonesburg Christian Church, Jonesburg. Burial will follow at Jonesburg City Cemetery.
