James Hildebrandt James O. Hildebrandt, 87, Jonesburg, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. Mr. Hildebrandt was born May 28, 1923, in Jonesburg, the son of Fredrick Hildebrandt and wife Viola, nee Coleman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a surgical technician from Feb. 15, 1943, to Sept. 9, 1943. He retired from Wabash Railroad and later went back to work at Artcraft Manufacturing in Jonesburg. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesburg. Mr. Hildebrandt was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Viola Hildebrandt, and two sisters, Minnie Ludy and Edna Stoecklin. He is survived by one sister, Sally Rieger and husband Bob, Jonesburg; one aunt, Mary Hildebrandt, Jonesburg; his step-uncle, Karl Klausmeier and wife Marian, University City; his good friends, Jerry and Toni Schwartz, Jonesburg; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesburg. Burial was in the Jonesburg City Cemetery. Memorials to the church in care of Harding Funeral Home, P.O. Box 186, Jonesburg, MO 63351 are preferred.  Condolences may be made at www.hardingfh.com.  The family was served by Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg.  
Barbara Cooke   Barbara Cooke, 87, Warrenton, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Cooke was born May 15, 1923, in Cheltenham, England, the daughter of John and Norah Court. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and travel. Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her parents, John and Norah Court, and two brothers, Ronald Court and Gordon Court. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Cooke, Warrenton; two daughters, Lesley Noack, Warrenton, and Marilyn Haynes, Humansville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services and burial were private. Memorials to donor's choice in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services for George J. Chaffin, 75, Warrenton, were held Saturday, April 16, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Mr. Chaffin died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. He is survived by his wife, Coy Ann Chaffin, nee Hatfield; one son, Kenneth Chaffin; four daughters, Heidi Reynolds, Holly Villalobos, Katherine Blanchard and Jennifer Davis; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services for Evangeline “Van” Lance, 91, Wright City, were held Friday, April 15, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Burial was in Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis.
Mrs. Lance died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehab, Jonesburg. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Trent and husband Arvel; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
