Stephanie Norton was appointed to the Scenic Regional Library Foundation Board of Trustees to fill the remainder of a term ending July 30, 2018.Norton is a resident of Warren County. She grew up on a family farm in Lincoln County and later resided in Franklin County for 13 years.Norton has a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from the University of Central Missouri. She is a 10-year employee of the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency, serving as deputy EMA director.As part of her employment, she serves as the chair of the Franklin County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) and secretary of the Franklin County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).She represents Franklin County on the Region I Solid Waste Management District, where she serves as the executive board vice chair.Norton is an animal lover and has trained in disaster animal sheltering with multiple organizations. She serves as co-chairperson on the Missouri Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (MoVOAD) and Animals in Disaster Planning Advisory Committee (ADPAC).Additionally, she serves as an advisory member for Badge of Hope Ministries.The Scenic Regional Library Board approved the appointment at its Feb. 21 meeting. The board still has one vacancy for Warren County. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization and oversees the library’s Friends of the Library groups.
