A North Carolina man who admitted to sexting with a 13-year-old Warren County girl will serve 120 days of shock time in jail.
The man, 26-year-old Gregory Allen Brown, received a four-year prison sentence but will be released if he successfully completes his shock time. Brown, of Hamstead, N.C., was sentenced by Circuit Judge Wes Dalton during a court appearance April 7.
In January, Brown pleaded guilty to three felony charges for sexual misconduct with a child under 15, tampering with a victim and tampering with evidence.
According to a probable cause statement, Brown used a cellphone to communicate with the 13-year-old girl. He asked her to meet him and send him nude photographs. He also sent the girl sexually explicit photos of himself, police said.
During the investigation, Warren County deputies learned Brown asked the girl to delete text messages and photographs and also told the victim to tell police he was 12 years old.
