Norman Ochsner

Norman R. Ochsner of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 86.  

He was the beloved husband of Carol (Schramm) Ochsner of O’Fallon, Missouri.  He is survived by his wife; two children, Joseph Ochsner of St. Louis and Elizabeth (Tracy) Orf of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Marian (Al) Brueggen of Florissant, MO; five grandchildren, Brittany Orf (Michael Collins) of Chattanooga, TN, Collin (Emmy) Orf of Mason, OH, Victoria Orf (Miles Talley) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jacob Ochsner of St. Charles, MO, and Curtis Ochsner of St. Louis, MO; and four great-grandchildren, Sage, Addison, Karter, Shiloh, and Baby Girl Maya (in January); two sisters-in-law, Mildred Ochsner and Sr. Joyce Schramm; two brothers-in-law, Fr. Don Schramm and Leroy (Ellen) Schramm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Quincy College, Norman taught at the former Assumption High School, Fort Zumwalt North High School, and St. Dominic High School over the span of 41 years.  He also coached baseball, softball, and basketball.  He is loved and remembered by the many students he has touched over the years.  Norman was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and uncle who will always be remembered for his loving heart, his unwavering faith, and his love of baseball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lillian (Oncken) Ochsner of Hermann; his sister, Lillian (Walter)Walkenbach; his brothers, Vernon (Laverne) Ochsner, and Raymond Ochsner, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Elvira Schramm, his brothers-in-law, Fr. Ed Schramm and Thomas Schram, and sister-in-law, Kathleen Schramm. 

Visitation for Norman will be held at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville on Sunday, December 5 from 1:00 - 5 p.m., with the funeral services the following day,  December 6, 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in O’fallon, MO. Norman was laid to rest at Eternal Peace Cemetery in Wentzville.
