No new candidates for county elections

Posted

For the past two weeks, no new candidates have registered to run for positions in the Warren County government during elections in August and November.

The Warren County Clerk’s Office said this week that most of the county offices up for election only have the current officeholder as the sole candidate. The only exception is the Recorder of Deeds position, where incumbent Deborah Engemann is retiring and two people so far are running to replace her.

County candidate filing remains open until 5 p.m. March 29.

Those interested in running for office should contact the county clerk’s office by calling 636-456-3331. Candidates must pay a $100 filing fee and complete forms indicating that they don’t owe taxes and are able to meet bonding requirements if elected.

Below are the county offices up for election, along with the current candidate(s) for each position:
• Presiding County Commissioner — Joe Gildehaus
• Prosecuting Attorney — Kelly King
• Collector of Revenue — Julie Schaumberg
• County Clerk — Denise Stotler
• Recorder of Deeds — Cynthia Short and Christy Bonstell
• Treasurer — Jeff Hoelscher
• Associate Judge, Division 2 — Richard Scheibe
• Associate Judge, Division 3 — Mike Wright
• Circuit Court Clerk — Tim Beard
