No decision has been made on whether or not criminal charges will be filed against the Warren County deputy who fabricated a story about being shot at.Prosecutor Kelly King on Tuesday said she has yet to review the report that has been submitted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.The deputy has been placed on unpaid leave. His name has not been released.On Jan. 31, the deputy reported he had been involved in an ambush-style shooting in Reifsnider State Forest at 7:23 p.m. The deputy claimed suspects fired upon his patrol vehicle and then fled the area. The vehicle suffered extensive damage, Sheriff Kevin Harrison reported. The conservation area is off Schuetzenground Road, located east of Warrenton.Harrison, in a press release issued the day after the incident, said the deputy was a U.S. Army combat veteran and claimed he was “struggling with post traumatic stress disorder, depression and suicidal thoughts.”No decision made on deputy’s false story
