New priest assigned to Holy Rosary Church in Warrenton as All Things New restructuring announced

Posted

The Archdiocese of St. Louis announced the results of the All Things New  project, resulting in the merging of 35 parishes.

Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton does not appear to be one of the parishes merging with another based on information provided by the archdiocese.

However, a new priest will take over the church.  The Rev. Edward J. Godefroid was appointed as the parochial administrator of Holy Rosary Parish and St. Mary Parish in Hawk Point. He previously was the associate pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in St. Charles.

No date was provided as to when the new priest will begin work at Holy Rosary or St. Mary's.

A parochial administrator is a priest temporarily entrusted with the pastoral care of a parish under the authority of the bishop.

The Rev. Thomas A. Vordtriede, currently the pastor of Holy Rosary, has  been assigned as pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in St. Charles.

Both Holy Rosary and St. Mary parishes have been assigned to  the new western vicariate in deanery six.
