Record Staff WriterFinders Keepers Consignment and Resale has been through a lot of changes over the past year and a half. So has Kimberly Sullivan, the shop’s owner. In March 2014, Sullivan saw a spot in the consignment market in Warrenton and she thought she could fill it. She opened up a shop on Kuhl Street. She was there for a little over six months before the changes started in November.Joanne Lanigan, the previous owner of Finders Keepers, offered to sell her shop located at the corner of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Highway 47.Sullivan took Lanigan up on the offer and found herself with two consignment shops. She managed both locations until earlier this year. When faced with some daunting repair work on a very old building, her landlord at the Finders Keepers location opted instead to tear the building down.“The building was being removed and it was easier to condense,” says Sullivan. She chose to lease two units on the strip mall a few feet down from her old location and she started renovations.“There’s never a slow day,” she says. The old location was “a good spot,” but the move just made sense. The new location gives her the room to sell furniture, depending on the amount of other items she has in the shop at the time.If there’s anything she can’t take or she knows won’t sell, she sends the consignor to the Agape thrift store across town.“I’m a regular over there,” she says.Sullivan also plans to participate in the sales tax-free weekend during the first weekend in August, followed by her own back-to-school sale.Finders Keepers offers its consignors a 50/50 split on the sale of their items. It also has a reward card, with which repeat customers can earn 10 percent off their purchase if certain requirements are met.For more information, Finders Keepers Consignment and Resale can be reached at 636-456-1282 or finderskeepers129@gmail.
