A New Florence man was recently charged with harassment and domestic assault following an incident Dec. 11, 2025.
According to a probable cause statement filed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, there was a call to Warren County Joint Communications from a victim who had locked herself into a room stating the suspect was using a drill to get access.
Upon contacting the victim she told a deputy that she and James Star of New Florence were separated and she had asked him to come over to eat dinner with her. She said Star began berating her, calling her offensive names. She locked herself in her craft room and he began banging on the door and attempting to get in using a drill. She said she fled through a window and went to her neighbors down the street. She also told deputies that Star made threats to kill her.
A no-bond warrant was issued for Star’s arrest April 1.
