By Tim SchmidtRecord Managing EditorFor years, Karrie Rosemann has always been a constant in the livestock barn at the Warren County Fair.This year she will be busier than ever. Rosemann was named the 2015 Fair queen during a coronation ceremony held Tuesday night. She was chosen from a field of eight candidates.A recent Warrenton High School graduate, Rosemann didn’t know what to expect when she and two other candidates were announced as the finalists. Minutes later, it was Rosemann having a crown placed on her head by 2014 Fair Queen Jennah Garrison.“It was very surprising,” Rosemann said. “I wasn’t expecting it at all. My best friends were up there with me so it was a great experience to have them next to my side.”Rosemann, who was sponsored by Gastorf Chevrolet, won a $1,000 college scholarship. She plans to attend Lindenwood University in St. Charles this fall and major in elementary education.She also was recognized for top interview and top ticket sales. Rosemann’s sister, Kelley, was crowned as queen in 2010. That served as some extra motivation to perform well in the pageant.“It was like I needed to step up my game,” Rosemann said.Rosemann has always been active in the Fair and is eager to assume her new role“Everybody up here is like family to me,” she said. “To see all my friends every year and see how hard we work with our animals, it pays off with the (livestock) shows. It is a very rewarding experience.”Kalee Kelly, sponsored by Rebecca Chapman Photography, was named first runner-up. She received a $400 cash scholarship.“I was very happy to be alongside all these girls,” Kelly said. “They all have been a big support through the week. It was definitely a great experience.”Kelly won awards for top evening gown and speech. The Warrenton graduate will attend college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University located in Daytona Beach, Fla.“Growing up, I have always gone to the Fair and watched the queen contest,” she said. “I always looked to them as a role model. For me to be a role model I thought it would be cool for the younger generation."Katlyn Branson was selected as second runner-up. She received a $200 cash scholarship. She was sponsored by Owenby Transportation.The queen candidates chose Candice Edwards as Miss Congeniality. She was sponsored by Edwards Brothers.Shayann Terry, sponsored by Fireside Bar and Grill, was recognized for selling the most, 31, raffle tickets.Other queen candidates were Lauren Potthast (Merten’s Quarry), Danielle Wiltsch (Martin Funeral Home) and Kaitlyn LaRue (Town and Country Garage).Judging for this year’s queen pageant was completed prior to Tuesday’s coronation ceremony.The interview, speech and evening gown competitions were conducted Saturday at Creekside Place Church.Karrie Rosemann, pictured front, was named the 2015 Warren County Fair queen Tuesday night.
