Several incumbents encountered trouble in their re-election bids Tuesday.Two new faces will be joining the Warren County R-III School Board as one incumbent, Jan Sutherland, fell in a four-way race. Elsewhere, at least one incumbent lost in board of aldermen races in Warrenton, Wright City and Marthasville.The voter turnout was 19.64 percent, a figure that was higher than recent April elections and exceeded a 15 percent projection made by County Clerk Barb Daly.In the R-III school board race, Allan Dreyer and Ginger Schenck were the top two vote-getters, according to unofficial results. Dreyer had 1,677 votes, with Schenck following with 1,126. Both will serve three-year terms.Sutherland was third with 839 votes and Brian Meine was fourth with 535.The vote totals included a handful of votes made in Lincoln County.In Warrenton, three new aldermen — Mike Shilharvey, Scott Schulze and John Miller — coasted to easy victories. Shilharvey defeated Damion Frederick 290-54 in Ward 1; Schulze topped Durbin 286-138 in Ward 2; and Miller won 136-68 over incumbent Jim Dreyer in Ward 3.Wright City Mayor Dave Heiliger retained his position for another two-year term. He tallied 308 votes and withstood a challenge from Jim Logan, who had 104.In Ward 1, John O’Connor had 110 votes to Norman Krutzman’s 60, while Tom Dixon won a bid to unseat incumbent Forrest Bruce 114-87 in Ward 2.Meanwhile, one incumbent was victorious and one lost in Marthasville. Nick Lange was re-elected in the East Ward. He finished with 76 votes to John Graham’s 51. In the Southwest Ward race, Christopher DeVore defeated incumbent Pam Jensen 107-84.Incumbent Tom Stevener and Ted Sator received the most votes in a three-person race for two spots on the Innsbrook Board of Trustees. Stevener had 129 votes and Sator followed with 120. A third candidate, Cynthia Bowers, had 81 votes.Election results
