The not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation is sponsoring a Hunger Banquet on June 3.The event, designed to showcase hunger needs in the area, is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warrenton Christian Church, 25891 S. Highway 47. Per person admission is one canned food item, which will be donated to Agape of Warrenton.Reservations are requested and may be made by calling NECAC Warren County Service Coordinator at 636-456-8191.Participants will be divided into low-income, middle-class and high-income brackets. They’ll then be served a meal that corresponds with their incomes.People in the low-income bracket will get soup. Middle class participants will eat spaghetti. The higher-end category will be served a full meal with meat, vegetables and dessert.The idea for the event came from Oxfam America, an international group that works on issues such as hunger, poverty and the law.NECAC Hunger Banquet
