The not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) will close the waiting list and temporary cease accepting applications July 1 for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 8 Housing Rent-Assistance Program in St. Charles County.There will be no change to the waiting list for the program in NECAC’s 11 other counties.NECAC has administered the HUD Section 8 program for more than 30 years, and currently manages more than 2,500 HUD rent-assistance vouchers throughout its service area, including 600 in St. Charles County.The waiting list was opened in St. Charles County earlier in 2014 after almost three years.More information is available by calling the NECAC St. Charles County Service Center, 3400 Meadow Pointe Drive in O’Fallon, at (636) 272-3477.NECAC
