The not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) is offering free hats and coats to disadvantaged Warren County residents.
The items are available first-come, first-served at the NECAC Warren County Service Center, 120 E. Main, in Warrenton.
“We’ve had anonymous donors who have donated of their time, talents and resources to provide winter coats and hats,” said NECAC Warren County Service Coordinator Desiree Antoniou. “We are very appreciative, and so are the people we’ve been able to serve. In many cases, they would not have gotten a warm coat or stocking hat without our help.”
Yarn is being accepted so that more hats may be made. Donors have also provided a limited number of toys that parents can use as Christmas gifts for their children. The items include games, activity boards and stuffed animals.
The programs are part of NECAC’s efforts during the season of giving. Last month, the agency distributed items to the homeless and took 30 purses filled with personal hygiene products and gifts to Turning Point Shelter and Supportive Services.
For more information, or to set up an appointment, call Antoniou at 636-456-8191.
