The Missouri Family Health Council has renewed its contract with the not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) to provide family planning and reproductive health services at eight clinic locations.The contract provides $382,120 and covers the period from April 1, 2016, to March 31, 2017.“We look forward to a continuation of serving the critical health care needs of patients with quality, private and licensed family planning health care,” said NECAC Deputy Director for Community Health Programs Brenda Fuqua.“We all know that early detection is a key factor in remaining healthy. We encourage people to use our family planning services as a part of their family medical priorities.”NECAC Family Planning sees more than 5,000 patients each year and offers a variety of affordable screenings and low-cost health examinations to all ages.Services include Well Women and Well Men exams, birth control services and education, cancer screenings including Pap smears, pregnancy testing, options counseling, prenatal education, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and referrals.The NECAC Family Planning program is directed by Nurse Practitioner Claudia Timbrook under the supervision of Dr. Sandra Ahlum.The program receives Title X funding from the Missouri Family Health Council, but is not affiliated with any national organization. NECAC Family Planning is not an abortion provider.NECAC Family Planning operates health clinics in Warrenton, Hannibal, Bowling Green and O’Fallon, and subcontracts with health departments in Paris, Kirksville, Columbia and Moberly to provide Title X family planning services.
