A criminal charge has been filed against an 18-year-old Marthasville man after his mother turned in a stolen computer that he was in possession of.Tyler Thurman, of the 160 block of South Kings Drive, was charged last week with felony stolen property. He made his first court appearance this week.According to the probable cause statement, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department began investigating a burglary in the 140 block of South Kings Drive on April 25. The homeowner reported that a laptop valued at $800 and other property had been stolen from his residence between April 15-25.Deputies later discovered that a laptop had been turned over to the sheriff’s department by Thurman’s mother on April 22. She suspected Thurman was using a bag belonging to her to steal items and had found the computer, the mother told deputies. Thurman also could not provide a credible explanation on why he was in possession of the laptop, according to the probable cause statement.Tyler Thurman
