A Wright City woman is facing a felony child endangerment charge after her two-year-old daughter tested positive for methamphetamine.
An arrest warrant was issued Oct. 1 for Shauna Young, of Northwind Drive, A $10,000 cash-only bond was set.
A Warren County deputy responded to Young’s residence July 30 as part of an investigation prompted by an employee with the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division. The employee had learned that on July 17 the child swallowed an unknown pill and was taken to the hospital by Young. According to the probable cause statement, Young’s story changed several times at the hospital and had inconsistent stories as to what the child ingested.
The child was taken to have a hair follicle test on July 23 and the results confirmed the presence of meth, the deputy said.
Young allegedly refused to take a drug test. A family member stated Young isa chronic user of meth, according to the probable cause statement.
