A suspect in multiple violent crimes this summer, including shooting at police while fleeing arrrest, is charged with yet another criminal action committed before his arrest.
Elijah W. Moore, 37, of Warrenton, was charged this week with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action for a home invasion that occurred June 30, 2019.
Investigators with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department allege in a court filing that Moore committed a robbery at a home on Quail Run Lane, off of Highway CC, the same day he is accused of performing another robbery in Warrenton.
The Quail Run homeowner told deputies a man wearing all black, including a hoodie and gloves, entered the home through an unlocked door. The robber reportedly came to steal a $25,000 check and threatened the homeowner with a knife. The homeowner told deputies all the man ended up leaving with was a wrist watch and a can of beer.
The homeowner reportedly identified Moore as the robber through a subsequent photo line-up.
Beyond the Warrenton robbery in which Moore allegedly held another person at knife-point, he is also one of the suspects in a burglary and subsequent police chase in Wright City. He allegedly shot at a Wright City police car, before fleeing with another suspect into St. Charles County. He led police there on a day of searches, chases and shootouts.
Moore is currently awaiting trial for the other robbery in Warrenton, along with half a dozen violent felonies in St. Charles County.
Prior to those alleged offenses, Moore served a lengthy prison sentence for assaulting a police officer and armed criminal action.
