The Missouri Department of Transportation is taking the next step in the Interstate 70 improvement and will begin having public open houses to discuss the plan.
The open house in Warrenton is from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the County Administration Building, 101 Mockingbird Lane in Warrenton.
There is also a meeting scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Jonesburg elementary School Gym at 106 Smith Road in Jonesburg.
During these meetings, there will be no formal presentations made. The information at each meeting will be the same.
For those unable to attend, the public commenting period on the I-70 project is open from Aug. 28 to Sept. 22. Public comments can be made at www.modot.org/public-involvement.
These public meetings follow listening sessions that MoDOT officials had with city officials in Warrenton, Wright City, and Truesdale.
During those meetings, a number of issues were brought up with most of the discussion focused on traffic issues regarding the service roads and upgrading interchanges.
