MoDOT announces upcoming road closures due to Improve I-70 project

Posted

Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will be installing a drainage culvert along Veterans Memorial Parkway near the intersection with Stracks Church Road starting Thursday, Aug. 7.  All work is weather permitting.

To perform the culvert installation, Veterans Memorial Parkway between Stracks Church Road and the Scotts Company entrance will be closed from 7 p.m. on Aug. 7 to 7 a.m. on Aug. 8.  Following the overnight work, Veterans Memorial Parkway will require a one lane closure with flaggers to finish the culvert installation.  Motorists are encouraged to utilize the north outer road of I-70 during the closure.

Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will be closing the eastbound Interstate 70 exit ramp at the Foristell interchange at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8. The exit ramp is expected to reopen by 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9. All work is weather permitting.

Crews are closing the exit ramp to install a culvert as part of the construction of the new Foristell interchange to accommodate a third lane in each direction of I-70. Motorists traveling on eastbound I-70 wishing to access the Foristell exit can exit at the Wright City Exit #199 ramp and then continue eastbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway.

This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is set to continue through 2028.
