SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) — Nearly $4 million in improvements are set to be made to the Missouri State Fairgrounds.During a visit to the fairgrounds on Wednesday, Gov. Jay Nixon announced the upgrades that were approved this session by the Legislature.Planned improvements include more than $1.3 million worth of repairs to the State Fair Womens' Building, such as renovating bathrooms and replacing the roof. The Missouri State Fair Coliseum is set for about $1.5 million in repairs to the roof and other maintenance.Both facilities were built more than a century ago.Another roughly $1 million will go to upgrades to the utilities system in the West Campgrounds.The State Fair runs from Aug. 13-23.
